What You Can't Pack in Your Carry-on Luggage

During our domestic or international trips, we need to travel by flights. But, we often get confused at what items we can carry and not carry in our carry-on luggage during an international or domestic flight. Here is the list to help you out.

1. Liquid over 100 ml

Liquid item over 100 ml is not allowed in carry-on luggage.

2. Liquids, gels, and aerosols 

A collection of liquid items, gel, and aerosol products that measures altogether up to 1 liter is allowed in carry-on luggage. But, it should be packed inside a zip plastic container. If it is more, it will go in the checked-in luggage

3.Sharp objects 

Sharp objects are considered as weapons. Scissors less than 4 inches like nail scissors are allowed.

4.Knitting needle 

Wooden rounded knitting needles are allowed. Sharp metal ones are not.

5.Razor

Razor is not allowed. But electric razor and razor installed in the handle is allowed.

6.Sports equipment

such as Baseball bats, ski poles, pool cues, bows and arrows, hockey sticks, golf clubs, not allowed

7. Self-defense items

Self-defense items, like pepper spray or mace, are not allowed in carry-on luggage as they can be considered as weapons by the airline. But, it is said that the airplane allows you to carry 0.4 ounces of mace if only it is equipped with safety.

8. Tools

Tools are prohibited to carry inside your carry-on luggage. Though, you can carry them in your checked-in luggage.

9. Lighters, matches and other flammable items

Lighters, matches and other flammable items are not allowed in your carry-on luggage or in your checked-in luggage.

Only one lighter can be allowed that to it has to be fuel free.

10. E-cigarettes or vaping devices 

E-cigarettes or vaping devices are allowed in your carry-on luggage but, the liquid that is required for this must fit in the liquid allowance in the carry-on bag.

11. Meat, fruit, vegetables, and other agricultural products

Meat, fruit, vegetables and other agricultural products are not allowed in many countries and as soon as you land there, these belongings can get confiscated.

12. Stinky food 

The co-passengers can get allergic if you bring stinky food items in an airplane.

13. Nail polish

Nail polish is allowed in your carry-on bag. But, you must not paint your nails inside the plane. It will cause a disrespect smell inside the airplane.

14. Perfume

A perfume can be irritating to other passengers on the airplane. Some passengers can also be allergic to the smell. So, it is good to not use perfume inside the airplane.

15. Adult viewing and reading materials

It is not good to read adult magazines or watch some adult videos as your co-passenger might get disturbed. You can use them later at the comfort of your home.

16. Guidebooks

It is better not to carry the guide book. In that case, you can carry a Kindle or e-reader to get information about your trip.
